VOLUNTEERING WITH SHELTERBOX
Volunteers are vital to ShelterBox.
They raise funds, support our teams at Truro HQ, tell everyone they can about what we do, and deliver aid to the people who need it. Find out more about the great work our volunteers are doing.
Take a look below at the current opportunities to get involved.
We always need help raising funds so that we can deliver life-changing aid to more people, and there are so many creative ways to do it. To find out more, visit our fundraising page.
Based outside of the UK?
If you are not based in the UK but would like to find out if there are volunteer roles available in your country, please take a look at our affiliates.
Emergency Team Volunteers
When disaster - like Cyclone Idai in Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe – strikes, many more people than usual want to donate to us.
The phone rings off the hook, and there are mountains of post arriving daily.
The Supporter Care Team in Truro can’t answer the phone or process donations quickly enough. That’s when Emergency Team volunteers step in to help answer calls or open the post.
Visitor Centre Volunteer (Saturdays only)
The ShelterBox visitor centre is the only public attraction of its kind in the UK. It is both a tourist attraction and a fundraising experience.
Visitor centre volunteers help bring our story to life, creating a memorable experience for people of all ages and backgrounds.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for Saturdays only, so you must be available on either Saturday morning or afternoon.
The ShelterBox visitor centre is based at our HQ in Truro, Cornwall.
We want everyone to know about the 85 million people made homeless by natural disaster and conflict.
By raising awareness, we also raise money which helps us bring shelter to people who are left with nothing.
We need people who will spread the word about ShelterBox in their local community, through face-to-face contact and social media.
ShelterBox Supporter Panel
ShelterBox Supporter Panel is an online meeting that takes place every 4-6 weeks.
Panellists are invited to review a key aspect of ShelterBox’s communications –such as fundraising campaigns, newsletters, branding and design – and offer feedback and suggestions for improvement.
The Supporter Panel is how we can make sure we’re getting the full attention of as many people as possible, and to do that we need your help.
