Where is Somaliland?

Somaliland is in eastern Africa. It borders Djibouti to the northeast and Ethiopia to the south and west. Somalia is to the east. The north coast is on the Gulf of Aden. Somaliland is a self-declared republic.

Somaliland has a mostly arid climate. The country has two rainy seasons, one major and one minor. However the country has experienced recurrent droughts. This puts severe pressure on resources. The increasing severity of droughts is thought to partly be due to the climate crisis.
