Interview with AXIS Charity Committee

What is the main objective of this partnership?

We aim to involve the whole AXIS community through a calendar of fundraising events and volunteering opportunities.

We aim to make a difference to many people’s lives.

How will you be supporting ShelterBox?

ShelterBox has a powerful vision for a world where no family goes without shelter.

We can support this vision by contributing to its efforts to protect and help families.

We are giving ShelterBox the freedom to use our corporate donations where they are needed most.

Transforming Lives Together

In 2017, support from AXIS has allowed us to distribute life-saving aid to families hit by catastrophic flooding in Bangladesh.

The flooding completely destroyed over 70,000 homes and significantly damaged over 500,000 more.

Thanks to amazing support from AXIS, we were able to distribute life-saving aid to affected families in Bangladesh. Our response distributed shelter, blankets, mosquito nets, solar lights and more to a total of 2,978 families.

Thanks to our partnership with AXIS, we were able to give families a new place to call home, together with warmth, safety and hope for the future.

Bizli's Story

Bizli and her family standing outside their home in the Garuhara village, Kurigram Sadar, Bangladesh

ShelterBox Response Team Volunteers spoke to Bizli and her family whilst in Garuhara village, Kurigram Sadar, Bangladesh.

Bizli and her family were asleep in their home on the banks of the Brahmaputra River when flash flooding hit.

More than 20 houses in the village washed away as a result of the flooding, and two people lost their lives.

Bizli and her family were forced to stay in the cramped house of another family living in the community.

Thanks to support from organisations such as AXIS, ShelterBox was able to timely respond to the flooding disaster in Garuhara and other remote communities in the Kurigram region.
